It is very exciting to announce that our summer series this quarter will be presented by men from within our congregation. In the February 2006, Gospel Advocate, brother Stan Butt Jr., wrote an article entitled "Look Among Yourselves - An Innovative, Practical Approach to the Summer Series". In this article he mentioned many advantages to this approach and we are excited that the elder's have agreed to use it this quarter. The men are working hard on their lessons and are enthusiastic about the opportunity to speak before the congregation.
Brother Butt mentioned many practical and developmental advantages to this approach for summer series. Some quotes from his article: "Developmentally, this approach can foster growth among the men of the congregation". "You will showcase the knowledge, teaching abilities and communication skills of the local men who will be teaching". "Local teachers provide an additional incentive for the congregation to attend and be attentive to the lessons". "Local men in the pulpit provide a fresh, non-professional perspective on the Scripture". We are looking forward to the lessons and the blessings from our summer series.
